Representatives of SkyMed, a company based out of Scottsdale, Arizona which provides emergency air medical transportation services to its members will be presenting information about their services during several free lunch seminars in Brooksville and Spring Hill this week.
SkyMed has been in business since 1989 and assists with bringing their members home if they’ve experienced a medical emergency in one of the 32 countries they cover. According to the reviews of several members who have had to utilize their services, they not only arrange for air transportation of the ill or injured member, but also coordinate travel and logistics for the spouse, relatives, friends, pets or stranded vehicles of the injured member. There is a litany of services associated with membership, which could be very useful if you find yourself incapacitated in a foreign country or perhaps just over 100 miles from home.
SkyMed offers short term, annual and plans specifically for individuals living abroad. The yearly membership price is significantly less than the cost of being airlifted once.
SkyMed partners with air carriers which operate within their 32 country coverage area. Usually the type of aircraft that is secured will depend on the medical condition of the patient as well as landing strip and airport availability.
SkyMed has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 1993 and has an A+ rating.
