County to auction 64 properties through tax deed sales

Commissioner Champion took time to explain to the public during the BOCC meeting on Oct. 10, 2017 that the county is looking to sell 64 properties through tax deed sales. He stated that many of these properties are located in the Royal Highlands and Southern Hills developments and are being offered very cheaply (in the range of $1000). He explained that the county does not wish to hold property. The county recently hired the Higgenbotham Auctioneers firm to sell off property.

Brooksville Tampa-Bay Airport receives “Airport of the Year” designation, but financial situation could be better

Recently, the Brooksville Tampa Bay Regional Airport was “Airport of the Year” by the Florida Department of Transportation.

“We are very proud of this recognition from FDOT,” County Administrator Leonard Sossamon said. “With FDOT and FAA assistance, we have worked hard to make airfield safety improvements and infrastructure upgrades for development.”

THE CAPITAL, TALLAHASSEE, June 29, 2017 .......... Rideshare services, such as Lyft and Uber, will have to comply with statewide rules, and students and teachers will be allowed to express their religious beliefs at public schools, under new laws that will go into effect Saturday.

The changes --- including two bills from the special session --- are among 125 revisions to Florida statutes that hit the books on July 1.
