Popular brunch spot opens in Brooksville

First Watch, the popular Sarasota-based breakfast, brunch and lunch concept,opened its newest restaurant on Monday, Oct. 9, in Brooksville. It is located  at 12314 Cortez Blvd. in the new Cortez West shopping center, and will employ about 25 people.

Customers at First Watch in Brooksville will be able to sample the eatery’s innovative menu, including popular dishes like Quinoa Power Bowls, Avocado Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and options from the Fresh Juice Bar, which are juiced in-house daily using high quality fruits and vegetables.

The Little Lady Cafe is a red building between the Courthouse and Water Tower in downtown Brooksville. We reviewed the restaurant a year ago, but it has since changed hands. The restaurant is now run/owned by Rory Steele. She worked at the restaurant for nearly 18 months before she decided to purchase the business with the support of her partners Brent Gaustad and Pete Roberts.

Local Hernando High Football Coach Debuts Family Sports Bar & Grill

On July 7, 2017, a local high school football coach opened Kaz's Family Sports Bar & Grill in downtown Brooksville, 4 N. Broad St. Brooksville, Fla 34601, right across from the courthouse.  

Owner Robert Kazmier is known as ‘Coach Kaz' to the community &  Hernando High School athletes. Coach Kaz said he sees endless opportunity in Downtown Brooksville. “It has so much charm and history.  Once support increases and our community sees what is possible here, I envision this place flourishing and becoming a truly special location for commerce and gatherings,” he said.
