Would you like to take a trip to Japan?
Well, a short drive to Wasabi Japanese Sushi is a less expensive option, but likely to provide a comparable culinary experience.
This is a excellent sushi restaurant and they also have an Asian grocery a few doors down.
Wasabi Japanese Sushi is located in Mariner Square near the Beall's department store. Mariner Square is located on Southeastern corner of Mariner and State Road 50. The address is 13154 Cortez Blvd in Brooksville.
We ordered their Miso Soup, a Seafood Soup (Scallop, white fish, shrimp, kani and vegetables) which was quite large and contained a hefty amount of seafood. We ordered several sushi rolls: Spring Hill Roll (Deep fried white fish, scallion and white mayo), Philly Roll (Smoked salmon, cream cheese, scallion), Wasabi Roll (Shrimp tempura and mango inside, seared salmon topped w. mango sauce), Shrimp Tempura Roll with cucumber and a Chicken Teriyaki dinner with white rice.
The Wasabi roll is one of their specialty rolls and the presentation is quite impressive. When the order came out of the kitchen, we were wondering what that order was. Lo and behold it was delivered direct to our table. All the roll orders were arranged on a large platter with the two end Wasabi rolls placed in a colorful glowing martini glass.
