A school bus carrying Hernando High Students was traveling westbound on SR-50 when a tractor trailer hauling toilet paper exiting State Road 75 failed to fully stop at a red light and collided with the Bus. The impact of the collision caused the school bus to overturn on its side.
The School bus was transporting 18 high school students at the time of the accident. Six of the 18 students were treated for minor injuries. None of the students were transported for their injuries by EMS.
The driver of the tractor trailer was cited for violation of the traffic signal.
