Every year, on the second Thursday of May, over 700 Keller Williams Real Estate franchises worldwide put their work on hold to give back to their communities. They call this day of service “RED day” and it is a direct fruit of Keller Williams’ ‘Legacy Worth Leaving initiative.’ RED stands for Renew, Energize, Donate – and that is exactly what they are doing here in Hernando County.
Our local Keller Williams franchise brought over 75 agents to work and serve with The Arc Nature Coast staff at their Neff Lake, Life Skills Development Campus. Another 25 agents went to Hernando Elementary to do landscape and odd jobs around the school.
A mural depicting the building that the Arc Nature Coast is planning to build on campus in the place of the old farmhouse was painted by Keller Williams agents.
The agents helped weed, clear trees and branches left by hurricane Irma, clean out old storage and prepare the campus for the 2 mi, 5K, and 10K run, and a night “Under the Tuscan Moon” event with Papa Joe’s, both of which are hosted by The Arc Nature Coast as fundraisers for there capital campaign.
The Arc Nature Coast has been a non profit 501c3 organization since 1973 that is dedicated to helping the intellectually and developmentally disabled by providing activities and training in life skills.
