Springstean High Senior Kyle Manuel finished off his high school career on a positive note. He recently signed with Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL where he’ll continue his exemplary Track and Field career and study exercise science with plans to become a physical therapist. Kyle was named Springstead’s 2018 United States Marine Corps-Semper Fidelis – Distinguished Male Athlete Award Winner.

Football – 4 Years in the program and a 2 year Varsity Letterman
Help lead the team to a 7-3 record this past season and to the playoffs last season.
2 way player – Offensively he was the starter at Right Tackle & played significantly at DE accumulating 27 Tackles and 6 Sacks
Boys Weightlifting – 4 Years in the program and 4 year Varsity Letterman
Helped to capture the Hernando County Championship this past season
Track and Field – 4 Years in the program and 4 year Varsity Letterman

Manuel not only shines athletically, he earned a 3.791 – Unweighted GPA and a 4.114 – Weighted GPA. However, he has truly distinguished himself with a recent achievement, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, which only about 4% of boy scouts ever achieve. Part of becoming an Eagle Scout is earning a total of 21 merit badges, organizing and completing a community service project. Kyle has been involved with scouts since 2006, when he joined as a cub scout.
Kyle’s Eagle Scout project was the construction of a butterfly garden at Challenger K-8 in memory of the Challenger space shuttle disaster victims.
