BROOKSVILLE – The Florida Department of Education released the annual report of Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) scores for third grade English Language Arts. Hernando County Schools’ third graders made gains for the second consecutive year with a 62% success rate of students making a score of 3 or better.
Hernando County’s students exceeded the state average of 57% earning Level 3 or higher by 5 percentage points and continue to lead neighboring school districts by as much as 9 percentage points.

“Our teachers, reading coaches and administrators strive to meet the learning needs of their students. When we include parents and engage students in their own learning, students achieve. These results are evidence of that collaboration,” Dr. Lori Romano said.
