(Brooksville, FL) At the September 11, 2018 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a corporate hangar lease agreement with Global Jetcare, an international air ambulance company, for property located on Technology Drive at the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport and Technology Center.
The company’s current 18-month lease, ending December 31, will have generated $162,000 in revenue. The new five-year lease extension begins January 1, 2019 and includes a right of first refusal on the adjacent two acres north of the corporate hangar. Based on the agreement, a total of $590,589 in revenue will be generated into airport operations.
“This lease extension is a win-win for the airport and for Global Jetcare,” County Administrator Leonard Sossamon explained. “The lease allows Global Jetcare to continue providing this valuable service around the globe and to possibly expand their footprint at our airport benefitting our local economy.”
Global Jetcare provides air ambulance service worldwide and is equipped with a medical stretcher, advanced life support equipment, medications and a highly trained medical staff. It currently operates with five Learjet aircraft, 30 employees and is currently hiring a flight nurse, paramedics and corporate pilots.
The Airport’s fixed base operator (FBO) American Aviation, the company that provides aeronautical services such as fueling, aircraft storage, maintenance, avionics and flight instruction, also benefits from this agreement. In just one year, Global Jetcare purchases as much as 112,000 gallons of Jet A fuel from the FBO adding to the economic value that Global Jetcare brings to our community.
