Florida National Cemetery celebrates National Veterans and Military Families Month 2018 with events honoring Veterans and their families

BUSHNELL, FL — On October 31, 2018 President Donald Trump declared November 2018 the second annual  National Veterans and Military Families Month to “salute the brave and dedicated patriots who have worn the uniform of the United States, and…celebrate the extraordinary military families whose selfless service and sacrifice make our military the finest in the world.”

In 2017, President Trump proclaimed November Veterans and Military Families Month, marking the first time America celebrated Veterans and military families for the entire month and not just on Veterans Day, in keeping with the President’s strong focus on improving care and benefits to our nation’s heroes.
That tradition continues this year with more than 300 events being conducted at VA medical centers, benefits offices and cemeteries across the country, including:
– open houses
– town halls
– volunteer recognitions
– homeless Veteran
  initiatives
– faith-based community
  events
– ceremonies at national
  cemeteries

To celebrate Veterans and Military Families Month, Florida National Cemetery will hold the following events honoring Veterans and their families throughout the month of November:

Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov 11th, 2018 at 11am.
Florida National Cemetery is located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513

“We come together to remember, honor and pay tribute to our nation’s heroes” said Cemetery Assistant Director Roberto Pizarro. “This public ceremony at Florida National Cemetery is a special way to say thank you to service members past and present, and to let them know that the sacrifices of our nation’s Veterans will never be forgotten.”

FreedomFest Florida

This year’s FreedomFest Florida, Presented by Fran Haasch Law Firm, Hits 106, Marker 48 Brewing, Sweetwater Brewing Co. & SSL Talent & Production will be held at the Florida Classic Park, Brooksville, FL, on November 10-11. The event schedule and the major acts and artists have been announced, and these include Night Ranger, Morgan Wallen and Jimmie Allen.
The two-day FreedomFest Florida will unfold on the Veteran’s Day Weekend, and will be devoted to remembering, honoring, and teaching. The event supports Wreaths Across America, a veteran’s charity, and apart from honoring the past and present veterans, will be memorable in spirit, as the location is near a tri-county (Citrus, Hernando & Pasco) area with over 87,000 veterans as residents. The location is also a 20-minute drive from the Florida National Cemetery, supported and maintained by Wreaths Across America (FL).
