“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
(Hebrews 10:36 KJV)
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
(James 1:4 KJV)
No one likes to talk about “having patience” it seems.
In today’s world, we want it now and don’t want to wait.
But patience is so much more than just waiting for the “sweet by and by”.
Patience is allowing time to work its wonder.
When you plant a seed in the ground, it takes time for that seed to mature into a flowering plant.
You have faith and believe the seed will grow into the flowering plant. That’s not up for question.
But if you don’t give it time (i.e. “patience”), and dig up that seed out of the ground, it will never mature into the flowering plant that you desired.
Likewise, in our personal lives, whether it be in our relationships, our jobs, our finances, etc., we have to plant our “seeds” in faith, but we also need to allow patience to have its perfect work (i.e. allow time to work its wonder).
Sometimes we forget that, and we want things to happen now!
We can have all the faith in the world, but if we don’t allow time (patience) to work, we will not see our desires come to past.
So relax, be anxious for nothing. And allow God’s perfect timing.
