Oak Hill Hospital Appoints Katie Stacy as Its New Director of Public Relations & Communications
Spring Hill, Florida (January 10, 2019) – Oak Hill Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Stacy as Director of Public Relations & Communications. Mrs. Stacy was promoted from her position as Marketing Coordinator, which she served since June 2013. She came to Oak Hill Hospital from the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties (PHELC) where she served as Communications Specialist from July 2011 to June 2013.
Mrs. Stacy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Stacy served as both a mentored intern and public relations consultant for Vince Vanni & Associates, Inc. until obtaining her position as Communications Specialist for PHELC.
Katie Stacy has been recognized as a leader in Hernando County throughout her adult life. She was recently recognized as the HCA Frist Humanitarian Award winner at Oak Hill Hospital for her many contributions to the community. She has been a vital part of the hospital team with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and has already served as past president of the Kiwanis Club of Brooksville Ridge. She plays a significant role in several community initiatives and events, such as the Great Hernando Weight Loss Challenge, LifeSouth’s Five Points of Life Foundation Kids’ Marathon, Kids’ Safety Fair, and many others.
Mrs. Stacy has a reputation as an organizer, communicator, and a motivator.
She is a graduate of the Introduction to Healthcare Supervision class conducted by CEO Mickey Smith, and is a participant in the Hospital Ambassador Program (graduating in February 2019). She has also completed Leadership Citrus class of 2015, and served as a Board Member of the Hernando National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Oak Hill Hospital to Host “Living With Cancer” Support Group Meeting
Spring Hill, Florida – Oak Hill Hospital announces that it will host a Living With Cancer support group meeting in the GME Conference Center, Rooms B and C on the campus of Oak Hill Hospital, 11307 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida 34613.
The group is focused on creating a circle of support for those newly diagnosed and living with cancer, empowering each other through education, sharing and listening to each other’s stories, and fostering hope and strength during this journey.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm. Anyone interested in joining and learning about this group should call 352-597-6333. Registration is requested but not required. United Way Offers FREE Dementia Care Seminar in Hernando
Spring Hill, FL – United Way of Hernando County is hosting their annual Dementia Care Seminar for families and professional caregivers focusing on loved ones living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s. This FREE seminar is open to the community and offers educational and interactive discussions highlighting struggles, solutions, and the power of hope.
Gary LeBlanc, a local author and caregiver, and Linda Burhans, national speaker on caregiver advocacy, will be sharing their experience through the journey of caregiving. There will be refreshments, helpful vendors, resources, and free memory screenings conducted by Renstar Medical Research.

Children’s Dental Day

Description – “To bring awareness to National Children’s Dental Health Month in February, Premier Community HealthCare (Premier) is hosting its 4th annual Children’s Dental Day on Friday, Feb. 8 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at four of its health center locations in Pasco and Hernando counties. The event will provide a full day of free dental services for children under 18-years-old who are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
In addition to dental services, Premier will also provide games and educational activities for children, as well as provide free giveaways and prizes including kid-friendly oral hygiene supplies and community health resources.
Free dental services will be provided for uninsured children under age 18, and most insurance plans including Medicaid and Florida KidCare are accepted. Appointments must be made by calling 352-518-2000. Limited walk-in slots are available.”
