The Five Points of Life Foundation and LifeSouth Community Blood Center held its 4th annual 5K and Kids marathon on April 6th.
“We like to give back and provide activities for the community to promote health and wellness,” said Brite Whitaker, Director of outreach and communications for LifeSouth Community Blood Center.
Hundreds of runners of all ages joined to help promote the 5 points of Life; five ways you can share life with others through donations of blood, apheresis, bone marrow, organ and tissue, and umbilical donation.
Many of the local school children who participated had logged 25 miles of running each. They completed the last 1.2 miles of the 26.2-mile marathon at Saturday’s event.
