What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with monarch butterflies and college students!
UF/IFAS Extension Hernando County was at the Brooksville campus of PHSC on April 2 and the Spring Hill campus on April 11 for their annual Earth Day celebrations.
This year’s topic was monarch butterflies and how to help conserve them. Monarch populations have dropped in recent years and there is much interest in learning how to help. The display featured caterpillars and chrysalides raised by UF/IFAS Master Gardener Drew Helvey, along with lots of research-based information on monarch populations and how to help.
