At 5:40 PM MAY 10TH, 2019 A 4 VEHICLE CRASH OCCURRED US-98 AND CITRUS WAY RESULTING IN A FATAL INJURY FOR ONE OF THE PASSENGERS.
V-1 WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON CITRUS WAY APPROACHING US-98. V-2 WAS
TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON US-98 APPROACHING CITRUS WAY. V-3 AND V-4 WERE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON CITRUS WAY, APPROACHING US-98, WITH V-3 AHEAD OF V-4. FROM A STOP SIGN, V-1 FAILED TO YIELD AND ENTERED THE PATH OF V-2. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT OF V-2 COLLIDED WITH THE RIGHT SIDE OF V-1. V-1 WAS RE-DIRECTED IN A NORTHWEST DIRECTION AND COLLIDED WITH V-3. DUE TO THE IMPACT FROM V-1, V-3 ROTATED AND COLLIDED WITH V-4.
ON MAY 12, 2019, GEORGE BROWN, A PASSENGER IN VEHICLE #2, EXPIRED FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED DURING THE MAY 10TH TRAFFIC CRASH. THE DRIVER IN VEHICLE 1 WAS CITED FOR FAILURE TO YIELD. ALL DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS WERE WEARING SEATBELTS EXCEPT THE FATALLY INJURED MR. BROWN.
ALCOHOL WAS NOT RELATED IN THIS ACCIDENT.
