LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS 5/28/19

LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS
• Deputies responded to:
o Shooting – MLK Boulevard/Twigg Street/Brooksville – The driver said a person was chasing them and had pulled up and shot at the driver’s side window. The witnesses include the occupants of the vehicle, were not cooperative with investigators – Investigation Active.
o Disorderly Intoxication/Resisting Without Violence – 7-Eleven/4710 Commercial Way/Spring Hill – An individual was outside of the store was causing a disturbance. When deputies arrived they noted he appeared intoxicated. The suspect pulled away from deputies and began to run. He was eventually taken into custody – Arrest/Male.
o Aggravated Battery/Stabbing – 278 Mariner Boulevard/Spring Hill – Deputies responded to an individual lying in the parking lot of 260 Mariner Boulevard. The victim said he had been attacked by three individuals and one had stabbed him. The victim was treated at an area trauma center. The victim is expected to make full recovery. There are no suspects at this time – Investigation Active.
o Grand Theft – Lighthouse Bar/5025 Treiman Boulevard/Dade City – The victim entered the bar for a drink. When he exited the bar he found his single-axle trailer with a zero-turn mower on it had been taken – Investigation Active.
o Possession of Methamphetamine/Deprive Officer of Means of Protection/Resisting without Violence/Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification – 7185 Holiday Drive/Spring Hill — While on proactive patrol deputies spotted an individual with active warrants. Deputies located 4.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine in her possession. She attempted to pull away from deputies and briefly grabbed hold of a deputy’s PR-24. She was immediately taken into custody. Another individual at the house was also arrested on active warrants – Arrest/1 Female and 1 Male.
o Sex Offense – Spring Hill – Investigation Active.
o Grand Theft Auto – 1485 Commercial Way/Spring Hill – The victim parked his 2001 orange custom Ultra Acquisition motorcycle in the parking lot at Walmart. When the owner returned an hour later the motorcycle was gone – Investigation Active.
o Agency Assist – 7331 High Corner Road/Brooksville – Deputies were assisting in locating a stolen Toyota Landcruiser out of Zephyrhills. Deputies attempted to make contact with a suspect who proceeded to flee by ramming an unoccupied patrol vehicle. The Florida Highway Patrol was eventually able to take the suspect into custody, however, not before the suspect caused extensive damage to the vehicle – Arrest/Female.
o Death Investigation – 4388 Tiffin Avenue/Spring Hill – Investigation Active.
o Traffic Stop – Spring Hill Drive/Maguire Avenue/Spring Hill — Possession of THC Concentrate/Possession of Marijuana/Possession of a New Legend Drug/Possession of a Controlled Substance/DWSLR – Deputies stopped the vehicle knowing the driver had a suspended license. Deputies found various drugs in the driver’s possession – Arrest/Female.
o Grand Theft – 5025 Spring Lake Highway/Brooksville – Victim reported that an unknown individual removed a pop-up camper from his property – Investigation Active.
o Traffic Stop – Spring Lake Highway/Cortez Boulevard/Brooksville – Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell and Possession of Marijuana — During a traffic stop a deputy located 1.32 grams of marijuana and 35 Alprazolam tablets. Arrest/Female.
o Domestic Battery on Person 65 or Older – 6500 block of Talbot Circle/Spring Hill – An adult brother and sister got into an altercation at their mother’s house. The brother punched his sister in the right arm – Arrest/Male.
o Dog Bite – Church Road/Brooksville – An update via press release will be available later this afternoon. 
o Child Abuse – 10000 block of Maderia Avenue/Spring Hill – Teenage victim said a known male punched the teen in the mouth and hit over the head with a kitchen utensil causing a laceration – Arrest/Male.

• Schools:
o Nature Coast – Student found in possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana — Student was arrested
o Challenger K-8 – Student made a threat to another student – Threat unfounded.
o Suncoast Elementary – A student purposefully pushed a teacher – Handled by school.

• Miscellaneous:
o Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies conducted numerous bar checks over the weekend. The checks resulted in two arrests, one at Karma Spirits Cafe for underage drinking and one at the Sunset Lounge for possession of THC concentrate/vape pen.
