SCHOOL DISTRICT NAMES NEW PRINCIPALS
BROOKSVILLE – Hernando County School District announces the 3 new school principals who will begin their new role starting July 1st. Spring Hill Elementary, Challenger K-8 and F.W. Springstead High School had openings at the principal position when current principals moved into new roles within the school district. Although new to the principal role, all 3 leaders currently serve as assistant principals at their school.
New principals:
Kristen Tormey – Spring Hill Elementary
• Began with HCSD in 2005
• Assistant principal at SHES
• Assistant principal Challenger K-8
• Teacher on Special Assignment – Assessment
Rosemarie Maiorini – Challenger K-8
• Began with HCSD in 1995
• Assistant principal at Challenger K-8

Dana Pearce – F.W. Springstead High
• Began with HCSD in 2001

HCSD ANNOUNCES NEW DISTRICT LEADERS
BROOKSVILLE – Effective July 1st, Hernando County School Superintendent, John Stratton will make the following appointments:
• Lisa Becker – Executive Director of Business Services
• Ray Pinder – Director of Human Resources
Becker has been with the school district since 2010 serving in several positions within the Business Services division. A cornerstone of her work is using her strength in negotiation to keep health insurance rates low for employees. In addition to keeping rate hikes well below state and national averages, Becker was responsible for bringing in nearly $3 million in profit sharing rebates to the school district. She is President-Elect for the Florida Educational Risk Management Association, a member of Florida Educational Negotiators and sits on the board for the Hernando County Education Foundation.
In addition to 17 years as a school administrator, Pinder serves as a lead principal for school leaders in the District and is a of the HCSD bargaining team and served as Chief Negotiator this year. Regarded for his signature initiative as a trainer in the 7 Habits for Highly Effective People framework, Pinder is credited with promoting student-centered leadership through the Leader In Me program at Fox Chapel Middle.
