V-1 was traveling eastbound in the inside lane of Caribbean Drive, approaching US-19. V-2 was
traveling southbound in the center lane of US-19. From a stop sign, V-1 proceeded east across
the southbound lanes of US-19 and into the path of V-2. As a result, the front right of V-2
collided with the front left side of V-1. V-1 rotated and came to final rest in the center and
outside lanes. V-2 was redirected in a southeast direction and overturned several times,
causing the front right passenger to be ejected. V-2 then came to final rest in the northbound
left turn lane and center median. Transported to an area hospital, Cameron Joshua Meredith
later expired from injuries sustained during the crash. Update: On June 12, 2019, FHP Troopers
arrested MATTHEW DENOBREGA for Driving Without a Driver License Resulting in Death and
Violation of Right-Of-Way in connection with the October 12, 2018, fatal crash that claimed
CAMERON MEREDITH. Troopers delivered Denobrega to the Hernando County Jail following his
arrest.
