Three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash at US 19 and Berkeley Manor Boulevard. Vehicle 1 ( V-1) driver, a 78-year-old female, was traveling southbound on US-19 in the inside lane north of Berkeley Manor Boulevard. V-2 driven by a 60-year-old male was traveling northbound on US-19 in the inside lane. V-3 with 3 passengers was traveling northbound on US-19 in the center lane. For an unknown reason, V-1 swerved to the left and crossed over the center median into the northbound traffic lanes. The left front of V-1 struck the front of V-2. Glass debris from V-1 struck the windshield of V-3. V-1 and V-2 came to final rest in the northbound inside lanes of US-19 while V-3 came to a controlled stop on the east shoulder of US-19. Transported to an area hospital, the driver of V-1 later expired from injuries sustained during the crash. The 60-year-old driver of vehicle 2 was reported to be in serious condition. The driver of V-3 and its passengers was not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
