A 1998 MACK TRUCK BEING DRIVEN BY A 60-YEAR-OLD MALE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON SR-50, EAST OF RICHLOAM CLAY SINK ROAD, WAS NEGOTIATING A LEFT TURN IN THE ROADWAY. SEVERAL VEHICLES WERE TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON SR-50, AND WHILE TRAVERSING THE SAME CURVE AN UNKNOWN SUV WAS PASSING SEVERAL VEHICLES ILLEGALLY. AS THE SUV APPROACHED V-1 IN THE EASTBOUND LANE, D-1 STEERED THE DUMP TRUCK TO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID A HEAD-ON COLLISION. D-1 THEN LOST CONTROL OF V-1 WHICH OVERTURNED, SPILLING ITS LOAD OF LIME ROCK GRAVEL ACROSS THE TRAVEL LANES OF SR-50. THE CRASH CLOSED SR-50 FROM US-301 TO
SR-471 FOR SEVERAL HOURS. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE SUV INVOLVED
IN THIS CASE, IS ASKED TO CONTACT THE FHP BY CALLING 813-558-1800 OR *FHP (*347).
