The monthly public program and chapter meeting for the Hernando Chapter of the Native Plant Society will be holding their monthly meetings and public programs at the IFAS Extension facility just off of Spring Hill Drive by the airport (16110 Aviation Loop, Brooksville, FL 34604.
The new location improves access for many of our members and visitors. Also, the facility’s AV equipment – especially the sound system and large TVs (with internet access!) – will allow us to serve the community like never before.
Jim Davis, Multi-County UF/IFAS Extension Director for Hernando and Sumter County, will introduce us to the role of the Extension Service. Following his presentation, the Hernando Chapter will lead a discussion on goals for the coming years given the context of our new meeting place.
Each month UF/IFAS Extension staff or volunteers will join us to open each meeting and greet attendees. After which we will conduct the usual brief business meeting and introduce our public program. We will continue to meet on the first Monday of most months and will continue to open the doors at 6:30 pm for socializing, with business starting at 7:00 pm.
Our first meeting at the Extension will be August 12, 2019, (second Monday due to a prior commitment). The September meeting will be September 9, 2019 (also second Monday due to Labor Day).
