Hernando Emergency Operations Center (EOC) issued the following alert Aug. 26, 2019:
“Tropical Storm Dorian is expected to approach the Windward Islands later today and tonight and move into the eastern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday. The current forecast for Dorian brings the storm to hurricane strength when it passes through the northern Windward Islands on Tuesday. It is still far too early to speculate on whether or not Dorian will have any impact on Florida. Residents are encouraged to continue to monitor the storm’s progress over the next several days.”
They recommend the following:
- Take this opportunity to review emergency plans and refresh your emergency supply kit. For more information, visithttp://www.HernandoCounty.us/EM
