Junior Varsity football season came to an end for Nature Coast on Oct 10, and they proudly take the bragging rights for the (unofficial) title for Hernando County’s JV Football Champions with a 6-0 season. Landing in at second is Hernando with 4-1.
“The goal was to go undefeated. I told them from the very beginning what needed to happen, was they needed to stay focused, and they needed to work when it was time to work. Never lose sight of what the goal was, and all year long, they stuck to it,” coach Chase Liggett said.
The loss may have been hard visualizing on the Springstead field after the varsity team is currently undefeated; however, it’s all how the player, as well as coaches, persevere.
“In life, you get beaten down, and it’s all about how you respond to that, how to come back next week. Are you going to hang your head and soak with emotions or keep fighting the way you should be,” coach Hynes said.
Springstead still has one more game to go Thursday night Oct 17. They will compete against District 7 leader Wiregrass with a 7-0 season. How he is going to prepare his team for their final game:
“Get a good game plan and go from there,” coach Hynes said.
