Mirador Beautifully Restored

Mirador Bed and Breakfast had their Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. A good sized crowd gathered for the event and the tours of the beautifully restored home that were to follow.

Kala Johnston and Dr. Gerald Johnson restored the unique home to its former glory. This was quite a challenge since the home had reached the point after years of neglect where there was the concern that it might be torn down.

The longtime occupants of the home, the Frazee family, had seen the dilapidated state of house when they visited a little while ago and were surprised when Katy Brown Schafer read an article online in the Hernando Sun about the renovations to the home.

The Frazee/Brown family came from around the country for the ribbon cutting. Jane Campbell Brown, who was born in the front room of the house spent the night. Jane Campbell Brown was a teacher at Hernando High School for some years as well as her aunts. A few lucky students had all three teachers during their schooling and practically became members of the family.

Several of the neighbors attended the ribbon cutting including the couple that sold the house to  Kala Johnston and Dr. Gerald Johnson. They were all very pleased with the rejuvenation of this unique treasure.
