Fatal Hernando County Crash 12/21/19 at US19 and Applegate Drive

At 12:22 AM, 12/21/19 a 1995 Ford Mustang driven by Dale M Head, a 43-year-old male from Lexington Kentucky, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound in the inside lane of US-19 approaching the intersection of Applegate Drive.  A second vehicle, a 2013 Kia Soul, driven by, 38-year-old Star Rajdl, was traveling westbound on Applegate drive approaching the intersection of US-19 and entered the intersection under a green traffic signal. The Mustang entered the intersection under a red traffic signal. and as a result, the front of the Mustang struck the left side of the Kia and, unfortunately, Mr. Rajdl suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. Mr. Head sustained serious injuries. Alcohol testing and charges are pending.
