Brooksville– The last time Hernando Christian Academy (HCA) faced Bayshore in the FHSAA 2A Girls Basketball State Championships was on February 19, 2019. Bayshore defeated the Lady Lions 57-36.
Things changed for Bayshore Christian on February 13 as Hernando Christian Academy took the win for the regional quarter-finals 36-32 to proceed in competing for regional semi-finals.
“Bayshore has always been a challenge to us, we lost four games (in the season), and three of them were to them.” HCA girls basketball coach Mike Drummond said. “This time we played them, they were in full strength, and we knew it was going to be a challenge.”
For the past ten years, Mike Drummond has continued to develop the girl’s basketball program not only with excellent sense integrity but also by trusting their faith.
“I said, God has us destined to be here for this moment, whatever happens in the game is gonna happen,” Drummond said. “We have just to keep playing our game, stick to our game plan, and it will work out.”
The Lady Lions take on First Baptist Academy on Tuesday, February 18, on their home court. Tip-off is at 7 pm.
