Some library services to restart April 29

Brooksville, Fla.– The Hernando County Public Library System (HCPLS) branch locations will continue to prohibit public access however, the following service updates will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in an effort to continue to protect our staff and community during the COVID-19 pandemic: 

• Exterior book drop-off will open for public use 

• Requests may be placed online at www.HernandoCountyLibrary.us or by calling (352) 754-4043 

• Holds, after notification has been received, may be picked up at the front entrance of the library branch location you requested the item at

• Phone assistance will be provided during regular business hours for each branch location 

• All fines will continue to be suspended until further notice 

• Library cards will be provided over the phone with a 60-day expiration date 

• All Library programs and room reservations have been cancelled until further notice 

• No donations will be accepted at this time 

• WiFi will continue to be provided in the parking lots of each branch location 24/7 

Although our Library branches are not open for the public at this time, online resources are available to residents 24/7 at www.HernandoCountyLibrary.us. Call the HCPLS at (352) 754- 4043 for assistance or more information on any of the services updates above.
