Show Us Your SunShine: Birthday Celebration

Even in the midst of troubled times, people everywhere are still finding plenty of reasons to celebrate; drawing their own personal sunshine from the celebration of memorable life milestones–with just a dash of divine inspiration thrown in for good measure.

Finding her muse in the spiritual realm, Spring Hill artist Anya Vykhopen of His Vessel Art Co. shares her original artwork, ‘His Presence.’  Vykhopen sells her artwork via her Etsy shop, www.etsy.com/shop/hisvesselartco, and is available for commissions via e-mail at [email protected].

Author and speaker Roslyn Franken of Spring Hill tells us, “I have so much ‘Sun’shine to share I don’t know where to start.”

Indeed, Franken is currently and joyously celebrating two major life milestones.

“On May 13th I celebrated my milestone 55th birthday,” she said. “I know some people don’t like celebrating their birthday because it means they are another year older, but after surviving cancer at age 30, I celebrate every birthday with great joy and appreciation because it means I am still here alive and well.”

Despite current global conditions, Franken remained determined to mark two very special occasions in the company of friends and family.

“Normally, we would have had a big birthday party with lots of friends gathering probably at one of my favorite restaurants,” she said. “However, with the current pandemic there was no big party. Instead, I invited a few friends for a ZOOM video party where everyone sang me happy birthday, shared some laughs and made a toast to my continued health and happiness.”

Furthermore, Franken supplemented these sweet feelings with an even sweeter treat.

“I baked my mother’s famous Dutch apple tart, as that was the cake she always baked for birthdays and special occasions,” she said. “I made my wish and blew out the candles. It certainly was a different kind of celebration, but it doesn’t bother me in the least. Every day I have my health and can count my blessings is worth celebrating, especially these days.”
