Art Submission: Colors in Toccoa by artist Allisa Babor

Whether in the corporate or creative realm, the brilliant, innovative businesswomen of Hernando County bring so much light and prosperity to our community. In this edition of Show Us Your ‘Sun’shine, we pay homage to the businesswomen of Hernando.

Our art submission, a photographic portrait of a radiant waterfall entitled Colors in Toccoa, is the work of artist Allisa Babor, nature and landscape photographer who also specializes in wedding photography, portraits, and visual branding. The owner of the creative studio known as Roots Creative Co., Babor takes a philosophical view of her artistic efforts.

“Outside of photography, I’ve got a passion for community, design, nature, travel, and people. I’m just an old soul cruising around Florida in a Jeep,” said Babor, also a volunteer with the Hernando County Fine Arts Council, at https://www.allisababor.com/about. “I take photographs for many reasons. For the moment inspired people. For the people in love. For the people figuring out what makes them feel alive. For those who consciously experience the present moment. For those who choose to fully live… and for those who have not yet learned how.”

“Before I am an artist, I am a friend,” she continued. “I have found peace in my artwork for many reasons, but the most important one being the relationships I create with my clients that I am lucky enough to call my friends. My natural approach to photography allows me to capture real, amazing moments between real, amazing people.”

Babor has landscape prints available at www.allisababor.com and is also available for bookings and custom projects. Email [email protected], and visit www.allisababor.com and www.rootscreativeco.com for more information.

In the corporate realm, women shine in the organization called Business and Professional Women, Hernando County, a local affiliate of BPW USA and BPW Florida. The goal of the BPW “is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.” And now the BPW is proud to announce the 2020-2021 Hernando BPW Board:
