Hernando Injury Crash 10/8/20 at SR 50 and Frisco Road

A 74 year old male from Spring Hill driving a pickup truck was traveling eastbound and stopped on SR-50, in the outside lane, approaching Frisco Road. A 41 year old female from Windemere driving a truck tractor was traveling eastbound on SR-50, in the outside lane, directly behind the pickup.  The driver of the truck tractor would later report that when she noticed the pickup stopped in the roadway, she asked the driver if he needed any assistance. The pickup driver then reversed his vehicle and backed into the front of her vehicle.  He then proceeded eastbound on SR-50 towards the median, then back across the eastbound lanes before departing the roadway onto the south shoulder of the roadway. Once on the shoulder, the pickup continued
over a raised drainage culvert, became airborne, landed back on the grass shoulder, rotated, and overturned during which time the driver was ejected from the vehicle and seriously injured..
