Central’s John Carbone has a passion for cross country, he’s got a heart for running and it shows during competitive meets and practice. He started running competitively in the 6th grade running track and now he runs cross country for the Central Bears. Carbone ran undefeated in Hernando and Citrus counties during the regular season, setting him up to compete in The Cross Country Regional 5K Meet on November 6th and take fifth place. John then ran very well at the state meet on November 13th with a time of 16:26, which was good enough for 14th place and a medal. He ran :49 seconds better than his time at the state meet from last season and placed 43 places higher than last year.
