Hear Ye, Hear Ye, during this pandemic Christmas season, historic downtown Main Street Brooksville will be launching its first ever “Virtual” Gingerbread Competition. All individuals, groups, businesses and organizations are welcomed, and urged to put on their creative thinking caps, and join in the fun by entering this nationwide competition.

Generously, there will not be an entrance fee, and submissions will be accepted from Friday, November 27th through Friday, December 11th by 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.  “All entries will be loaded onto the Brooksville Main Street Facebook page.  And votes will also be cast via our Facebook page. When entering the contest please enter a photo of your gingerbread house to this page from December 11th through December 18th by 5:00 pm EST and online voting from December 12th-December 18th  by 5pm EST,” said Natalie Kahler, Executive Director of Main Street’s ongoing programs, founded in 2017.  Kahler, who at one time was mayor of Brooksville, has been with the non-profit organization since June of 2019.  “We have a huge variety of fun and interesting activities to attend all year long.  Our goals are to bring people and businesses to the city; we are an economic development program which has an eye on the future.  Our 200 volunteers do a great job helping me to pull it all together.  They are people invested in the community and want to make it work.  These fantastic volunteers are all over the map as far as age and walks of life.”

 Rules for entering:

Submission forms must include a photo of all entrants’ gingerbread houses and the names of those who contributed to its creation.
