Fatal Hernando Motorcyle Crash 12/4/20

A 24-year-old male from Spring Hill was driving a motorcycle and traveling northbound on Mariner Boulevard at a high rate of speed. An SUV driven by a 66-year-old female from Spring Hill was traveling westbound on Augustine Road, attempting a left turn onto Mariner Boulevard. The SUV turned left into the path of the motorcycle resulting in a collision. Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later expired from injuries sustained during the crash. According to the HCSO Facebook page, it was reported that witnesses say the motorcyclist was racing another vehicle and “popping wheelies” prior to the collision with another vehicle. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and the family has been notified. The driver of the SUV had no passengers and she was not physically injured.
