A response to a domestic disturbance turned into a drug bust when Hernando County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered drugs, paraphernalia, and a firearm at the scene.
In a written statement, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said that on Dec. 26, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance that began inside a vehicle and spilled onto the roadway near Commercial Way and Northcliffe Boulevard.
While investigating the incident, law enforcement personnel discovered a stash of marijuana, a variety of drug paraphernalia and a handgun that had been reported to the Temple Terrace Police Department as lost.
A male suspect at the scene became combative, kicked the investigating deputies, and resisted arrest.
The deputies were not injured.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of Resisting Arrest with Violence, Possession of more than 20 grams of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Domestic Battery.
He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center.
