GAINESVILLE- Though an official announcement has not been made as of yet, the Florida High School Athletic Association released what will be the new classifications and districts for prep football for the 2021 campaign. Teams from Pasco and Hernando counties will be in new districts and the newly created divisions are listed down below from Class 7A to Class 2A. Nature Coast, Springstead, Hernando, Central, and Weeki Wachee will all be playing within new districts, which vary in competition. Likely getting the toughest draw was Hernando, who will play in a difficult Class 4A, Region 2. Nature Coast should have a somewhat easier time in Class 5A, District 9 and an annual matchup against Zephyrhills will become must-watch football. Springstead’s district remains somewhat the same except switching out Lake Minneola for Belleview.
