After a brief search, The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office apprehended the suspect in a stabbing incident at the Speedway gas station and convenience store in Brooksville this past weekend.
According to Denise M. Moloney, community/media relations manager for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:30 p.m. on April 3, deputies responded to a report that someone had been stabbed in the parking lot of the Speedway convenience store at 26260 Cortez Boulevard. Upon arrival, deputies found a man who had sustained a stab wound. He was treated at the scene by Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services and transported to a local trauma center.
Witnesses at the scene told deputies that two adult males had an argument inside the store. Both men exited the store and walked toward the parking lot where, according to witnesses, the suspect was joined by two or three male friends and all the men including the victim began fighting.
The suspect and friends left the scene before law enforcement personnel arrived, Moloney said.
“With assistance from independent witnesses on scene, surveillance video, cell phone video, and numerous tips to Hernando County Crime Stoppers, detectives have identified all suspects involved in the Stabbing incident,” reported HCSO on April 5.
The investigation continues.
