The State’s House of Representatives passed the bill on April 23 by an 84-29 margin.

Said Simpson’s letter, “As a member of the Hernando Delegation I hereby object to hearing House Bill 1635 and I respectfully request it not be placed on the calendar of bills to be considered on the Senate Floor this Thursday, April 29, 2021.”

According to Senate Spokesperson Katherine Betta, Simpson has not commented further, however, removal from the calendar means that the measure would not advance during the current Legislative Session which ends on April 30. according to Senate Spokesperson Katherine Betta.
