Live musical entertainment, a dramatic Whoville experience, games, food, and more will be offered at the Live Oak Theatre and Conservatory Annual Spring Festival, to be celebrated May 22, from noon to 5:30 p.m., at the Carol & Frank Morsani Center for the Arts, 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville. And vendors are being sought to offer their wares at this vibrant springtime festival.
“We are certainly open to all kinds of vendors,” said Vince Vanni, Live Oak spokesperson, “but they must remember that this is a family friendly event.”
At a time when organized events are few and far between, the spring festival offers a rare opportunity for these vendors to sell their offerings in a fun seasonal forum; one also set to showcase an exclusive musical performance from young performers who hone their talents and skills at the Live Oak Conservatory.
The featured performance promises to be a showcase of top quality and highly spirited entertainment, courtesy of the Live Oak Conservatory and Live Oak Theatre Company on their outdoor stage.
“The entertainment will be provided by the various programs of the Live Oak Conservatory,” said Vanni. “Due to the pandemic, we are unable to hold a formal recital as the attendance is always so large. Last time, we had to hold it over multiple performances.”
“Therefore, we are using this as an opportunity for family and friends to attend at different times and enjoy seeing what the kids have learned,” said Vanni. “Many are the same performers who participated in the 10 sold out performances of Aladdin Jr.”
Also featured will be a bounce house, games and a Whoville experience for families, and food and baked goods available for purchase. A wide variety of vendors and exhibits are planned. And the festival will feature outdoor cook-out style food, like hot dogs, chili dogs, nachos, pizza, and chips.
“Also fun games to play,” said Vanni, “as during the Christmas Festival.”
Admission and musical entertainment are free; however, a variety of food and family friendly activities will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Live Oak Theatre Company and Conservatory, a 501C3 not-for-profit organization.
