Op-Ed: Equity in Education & Anti-American Values

Divisive and destructive platforms are being taught in American schools across our Country.  The collective name for these radical platforms is “Equity Education” or “Diversity Education.”  Equity Education is falsely based upon the extreme left propaganda that America is systemically racist, and “White Privilege” is the root of racism.
Equity Education is indoctrinating America’s young, our children and grandchildren, with anti-American values, anti-American precepts, and anti-democratic doctrines. Equity Education espouses socialistic and communistic rhetoric, denounces the nuclear family, embraces skin color over merit, and much more anti-American platitudes.

Equity Education is being brought into Florida and in Hernando County Schools.  Systemic Racism, BLM, and White Privilege precepts are being presented contrary to our Constitution.  Recently the Hernando County School Board approved $107,800 for the purchase of a computer-based Equity Training Program for staff and faculty.

The program, Equity in Education, From the Inside Out (Franklin Covey|EDU1945237 Version 1.1.8) is based upon undoing “Unconscious Bias” as the predicate in equity in education.  Jason Galitsky, Coordinator of Federal Programs for the Hernando County School District presented the Equity in Education training program to the School Board, at a workshop meeting, as a communication platform, teaching faculty and staff how to discuss and impart equity in education precepts without having people become offended or defensive.

The Equity in Education training manual’s foundation is that Systemic Racism and White Privilege is the cause of the achievement gap in education and equity in education is the way to eliminate the gap.  It focuses on using such words as minoritized instead of minority when referring to a person who is part of a group that is less than half of the population.  The manual gives a thumbs down to Group Work that seeks “the right answer” and gives a “thumbs up” to Collaborative Learning that seeks “a good or defined outcome” instead.

Our education system is being turned upside down with the use of soft words to cover the meaning of what is happening, and it is happening without parents and grandparents being made aware.

Equity in Education and what it is doing to our children, grandchildren and America’s future is being covered-up.  I have sent four (4) separate requests under Freedom of Information/Florida Statute 119 for information, writings, documentation, and more to the School District without receiving satisfaction.  I made it abundantly clear in my requests what information, documents, and writings I am seeking.

Parents must be made aware and speak out loudly.  Everyone must be made aware and speak out loudly; it is our America; it is our future.  Equity in Education is nothing more than a “Dumbing-Down” of children and America.
