Music, drama and a fanciful Candyland play area will be up for offer at Live Oak Theatre and Conservatory’s Annual Spring Festival noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22, on its grounds at the Carol & Frank Morsani Center for the Arts, 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville.

Admission and musical entertainment are free, with a variety of food and family friendly activities available for purchase. Kids are sure to love careening down the blow-up slide and building their own gingerbread house in the Candyland play area.

“The monster slide was a big hit at Christmas, so we brought it back,” said Vince Vanni, Live Oak spokesperson. “The young people will really enjoy the Candyland theme for all the games.” The festival will feature entertainment from the Live Oak Conservatory and Live Oak Theatre Company on their outdoor stage. Family games will be played, and baked goods available for purchase.  A variety of vendors and exhibits are planned.

Vendor booths (especially those showcasing craft vendors) are still available for $25. Limited electricity is available on a first come, first served basis. For more information and to register your booth, email [email protected] or call 352-593-0027.

“I am particularly excited to see some of the unusual craft vendors on the list, especially aroma-therapy jewelry,” said Vanni.

Also up for offer will be valuable information about another fun and creative Live Oak activity, an upcoming summer camp program. “We will also be available to answer any questions about our upcoming summer programs for kids,” said Vanni. “By the way, our improv camp is open to ALL ages-eight to adult.”

All proceeds will benefit the Live Oak Theatre Company and Conservatory, a 501C3 not-for-profit organization. The Live Oak Theatre Company exists to enrich families, individuals and the community by providing positive artistic experiences in the Performing Arts. This includes excellent, affordable, and edifying family friendly entertainment, performance, and educational opportunities for Theatre patrons and participants of all ages.
