Orientation sessions consist of how to audition for the repertory company, with advice and familiarization regarding the audition process. The next Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22nd from 5:30-7:00pm.
On this day, Live Oak Theatre company will conduct an “Orientation to Live Oak Theatre and How to Audition for Us” program. The program consists of a 1.5-hour class held from 5:30 to 7 pm on June 22. The orientation program will be held at the Morsani Center for the Arts. Email [email protected] or call 352-593-0027 to reserve your spot for orientation. Completion of this program is a requirement for non-LOT members – children, adults, and parents of children – who wish to audition for Live Oak Theatre’s repertory company 2021-2022 season.
The instructor for this class is Vince Vanni, also a seasoned actor and drama teacher. Vanni’s students currently appear throughout the area in both amateur and professional venues. These orientation classes are free to take. If you are new to Live Oak Theatre, all audition questions will be answered during the orientation.
“We are a repertory company, so people are admitted into the company itself. Because of that, we require an orientation to who and what we are,” said Vanni. “Most importantly, my orientation class teaches exactly how to audition for us. Removes a lot of anxiety. We require 16 bars of a song that shows their abilities. We also recommend a monologue. I review this with everyone and help them through the process.”
If you wish to audition for a specific role, email [email protected] and tell Live Oak’s Marie what role you plan to audition for, so that you can be assigned a more specific time to arrive.
