Rep. Blaise Ingoglia (R-Spring Hill) has announced that he will seek the Senate Seat for Florida District 10. The District encompasses Hernando and Citrus Counties and portions of Pasco County. He officially announced his candidacy on July 20.
Since 2014, Ingoglia has served in the Florida House of Representatives for District 35. During this past legislative session, he sponsored election reform legislation as well as the Transparency in Technology Act, which has been referred to as the ‘Big Tech bill.’ His proposed Local Bill to make the position of Superintendent of Hernando County Schools an elected post instead of an appointed one was passsed by the House, but failed to be placed on the Senate’s legislative calendar.
He, along with Senate President Wilton Simpson (R-Trilby and Rep. Ralph E Massullo (R-Beverly Hills), received an “A” grade on the Florida Chamber of Commerce annual Legislative Report Card for his support of business friendly legislation during the 2021 legislative session.
In announcing his candidacy Ingoglia said that he would continue to champion important legislation.
“My record is clear: cutting taxes, creating jobs, defending the Second Amendment, cracking down on illegal immigration, improving education for our kids, and protecting our natural resources,” Ingoglia said. “In the Florida Senate, I vow to tackle head-on the tough issues important to our community.”
Ingoglia serves as chairman of the Hernando County Executive Committee. He will be termed out of his House seat in 2022.
He resides in Spring Hill with his wife Julie.
