At the regular Board of County Commissioners meeting on July 13, Economic Development Director Valerie Pianta announced that Airport Operations Manager Kevin Daugherty would be appearing before the BOCC for the last time. Daugherty has accepted the position of Airport Director with the Titusville / Cocoa Airport Authority. Pianta went on to recognize Daugherty for his service and achievements with the Brooksville – Tampa Bay Regional Airport (BKV).
Some of Daugherty’s accomplishments include signage, lighting and navigation improvements, taxiway and runway rehabilitation and improvements, including a 1000 foot expansion of BKV’s primary runway.
“Our loss is truly their gain,” Pianta began. “Kevin has been with the county for 8 years, and has made remarkable impact at the airport. From capital projects to relationship building with the funding agencies, the impact has all been positive. He really has brought the airport to the next level. It’s been a significant benefit to the county.”
