In 2017 Isaac Lemons was charged with supplying a lethal dose of flakka (a synthetic drug) to 18-year-old Dylan Thornton.
In September of 2015, Thornton disappeared from his 18th birthday party. When Dylan didn’t return worried family members called 911 and went to look for him. A little while later they found his body behind a home off Crowell Road.
Hernando County Sheriff’s Office investigators discovered that Lemons had sold him the flakka. Lemons, who will turn 28 on Aug. 2, was sent to jail on charges of third-degree murder and drug possession.
The homicide trial for Isaac Lemons began last week. On July 27, 29-year-old witness George Max Badillo showed up to the Hernando County Courthouse but left before he could testify. Fifth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Daniel Merritt Jr. issued a Writ of Bodily Attachment and Order to take Badillo into custody. The Writ of Bodily Attachment authorizes law enforcement to arrest Badillo.
When Badillo has been located he will be held without bond until he appears before Judge Merritt to testify. The homicide trial will continue on Aug. 2, 2021, to provide enough time for Badillo to be located.
