Cops confiscate guns, drugs and cash in Brooksville raid

Law enforcement personnel from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) seized drugs, firearms, and cash during a raid on a residence in Brooksville. Two were arrested in the incident. Two more suspects remain at large.

HCSO Deputy Public Information Officer (PIO) Michael Terry said that in the early morning hours of Aug. 12, deputies from the HCSO Vice and Narcotics Unit acted on a warrant and searched a residence at 17190 Jenifer Lane in Brooksville. The raid was a result of a several months-long investigation that revealed drug activity there.

Members of the HCSO SWAT team secured the residence where investigators found 441.4 grams of methamphetamine; 260.6 grams of marijuana; Trace amounts of fentanyl; 13 THC cartridges; 80 controlled substance pills; 22 firearms and $4,017 in cash.

Marcie Smith, 46 and 40-year-old Ricky Gonyer were arrested at the scene and each charged with Armed Trafficking in Methamphetamine; Possession of Structure for Sale of Controlled Substance; Possession of Fentanyl; Possession of Hashish Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams; Possession of Paraphernalia.

They were booked into the Hernando County Detention Center. Both Smith and Gonyer were released on Aug. 13.

The HSCO is still searching for 38-year-old Brook Thompson aka Brook Campbell and Michael Mulkey, 48.

Mulkey is wanted for three counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine; three counts of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell; Possession of Structure/Conveyance for Sale of Controlled Substance Possession; three counts of Paraphernalia possession and three counts of Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication Device.

Thompson is wanted for Trafficking in Methamphetamine; Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell; Possession of Structure/Conveyance for Sale of Controlled Substance; Possession of Paraphernalia 1,000 and Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication Device.
