A Spring Hill man is dead after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck at US 41and Veterans Avenue.
According to Sgt. Steve Gaskins, public information officer (PIO) for the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, a man from Summerfield City was driving a single unit box truck westbound on Veterans Avenue approaching US-41. Meanwhile, a Spring Hill man was driving a motorcycle southbound on US-41 approaching Veterans Avenue.
At the intersection of Veterans Avenue and US 41, the man driving the truck turned into the motorcyclist’s path.
As a result, the motorcycle collided with the truck’s undercarriage.
The driver of the motorcycle who was not wearing a helmet sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
