A man from Spring hill sustained fatal injuries when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV at the intersection of US 19 and Bolton Avenue in Hudson.
According to Sgt. Steve Gaskins, public information officer (PIO) for the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, a 79-year-old man from Hudson was driving an SUV southbound in the left turn lane of US-19, approaching Bolton Avenue while a 57-year-old man from Spring Hill driving a motorcycle as traveling northbound in the center lane of US 19.
At the intersection of US 19 and Bolton Avenue, the SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle.
As a result, the motorcycle collided with the front right section of the SUV.
Upon impact, the Spring Hill man who was not wearing a helmet was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries in the incident.
