Dennis was born in Steubenville, Ohio on February 19, 1947. He peacefully passed into Heaven on August 26, 2021, at age 74. His cause of death was COVID-19.
Dennis grew up and spent most of his young adult life in New Manchester, WV. He graduated from Oak Glen High School, received a Doctor of Humane Letters from West Liberty State College, WV, and a Doctorate of Divinity from the International Institute & Seminary. Besides working in Weirton Steel, he volunteered in the community in many positions, including becoming Fire chief in New Manchester.
Dennis and his family moved to Brooksville, Florida in 1979. There he founded Innovative Technology Corp with his newly invented products in surge protection. After selling the company in 1997, he dedicated his life, volunteering and giving to his community and helping others any way he could.
Dennis is predeceased by father Ralph H. Wilfong, mother Wilma Wilfong, brother Raymond Wilfong, and brother Donald Wilfong. He leaves behind his wife and helpmate of 55 years Pamela Waide Wilfong, his beloved children, son Dennis Scott Wilfong (Sandy), and daughter Tammy Manners (Jim). The jewels in his crown were Granddaughters Virginia (Phillip) Joyner, Kirsty Churchill, Carissa Manners and grandsons, James Manners, Jacob (Destinee) Manners, 2 Great-grandchildren – Kylee and Westin Joyner, 2 brothers Ralph O Wilfong (Brenda) and David (Lori) Wilfong, 3 step-grandsons, Bill Howard, Matthew, and Michael Quinn, 6 step-grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law, 5 aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, and many, many dear friends.
There will be a commemorative gathering of friends and family Tuesday, Aug 31, 4:00-8:00 PM at Brewer & Sons, 1190 South Broad St, Brooksville. Celebration of Life Service on Wed Sept 1, 11:00 AM at Faith Evangelical Church, 200 Mt Fair Ave. in Brooksville. Followed by Interment of URN at Brooksville Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life at Tomlinson Run State Park, New Manchester, WV on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 12:00 noon with a covered dish picnic to follow.
