A Spring Hill woman is dead after a Hernando man lost control of the motorcycle he was driving.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Public Information Office (PIO) Sgt. Steve Gaskins, just before midnight on Oct. 14, a 43-year-old Hernando man and his 42-year-old female passenger from Spring Hill were traveling on a motorcycle northbound on US-98 approaching Museum Court when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve in the roadway in front of the May Stringer Museum in downtown Brooksville.
The motorcycle subsequently overturned, struck a curb and entered the north grass shoulder of the roadway before colliding with a wooden pole.
The driver sustained serious injuries.
His passenger died at the scene.
Neither the driver of the motorcycle nor his passenger was wearing a helmet.
