Commissioners at the October 26, 2021 Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting voted unanimously to approve a new map showing modifications to each commissioner’s district.

County Planner Michelle Miller presented the proposed map at the October 26, 2021 Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting.

The changes are pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 124.01 to keep the districts in equal proportion of the population, and the changes can only be made in odd-numbered years. None of the commissioners’ districts have been changed from where they were elected, and none lost constituents in the redistricting.  Data is provided by the federal Decennial Census.

The new map shows the districts divided into population groups as follows:

District 1 – Beth Narverud 38,496
District 2 – Wayne Dukes 38,629
District 3 – John Allocco 38,512
District 4 – Jeff Holcomb 39,502
District 5 – Steve Champion 39,376

The BOCC will consider the proposed ordinance during their November 16, 2021 regular meeting and changes to the boundaries will be announced in legal notices for two weeks prior to the meeting.
